Holistic brain training is not therapy or medical treatment. It doesn't diagnose, treat, cure, or claim to slow dementia.
Our activities draw on holistic, science-backed training and engagement activities, which address movement, goal-oriented cognitive training, and social interaction. We aim to create moments of joy, not "homework”. And we definitely go beyond bingo.
Holistic Memory Training is appropriate for people of any age, ranging from children to seniors. The goals, however, might be different. Cognitive fitness and brain training for adults might focus on memory, focus, or executive function. For those living with memory issues, including early stages of dementia, activities would focus more on engaging the brain.
A key framework we use in developing our activities was developed by the German Association for Memory Training (BVGT.de), which identifies 12 cognitive training goals. It is useful as a way to identify different types of learning that can be trained or activated, depending on the needs or interests of the individual.

Add Brain & Connection to your Caregiver Strategy Roadmap.
Or start here if connection — not crisis logistics — is your most urgent need right now.
The 5 guiding principles that SHAPE all of our work, supporting caregivers and the people they love, while promoting brain health and lifelong learning:
Activities are rooted in research on education, brain health, neuroplasticity, and geragogy, the study of education for older adults. We are continually learning too.
We address the whole person (mind, body, and spirit) to foster engagement, relaxation, independence, and social connection. Humor and heart are essential.
Our services are designed to fit into your life and schedule. Exercises are designed to meet you where you are, knowing abilities and needs will change.
Movement is a core component, fostering brain health, energy, and engagement. Similarly, we aim to meet you where you are.
We honor the unique experiences, learning preferences, and life situations of both those living with cognitive challenges and their caregivers.
